Error description

  • When performing a search in either a B2B or extended sites
    environment, a secondary product entitlement search is also
    performed on the initial search results. Part of the product
    entitlement search process is to retrieve product data from the
    database. The queries against the database can be quite large,
    impacting performance.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce V7 FEP2+ , using SOLR search solution, with
    either a B2B or extended site store.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    Excessive product entitlement searches are performed against the
    database for eSites and B2B stores, resulting in performance
    degradation.
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Performance is affected if there is a large number of SKUs per
    product, or a large number of products per category
    
    RECOMMENDATION:
    

Problem conclusion

  • APAR JR41404 changes the product entitlement search logic,
    reducing the database query size.
