Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
Websphere Commerce Developer Edition users with v7.0.0.4

    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
FileNotFoundException error is encountered when trying to enable
feature pack on WebSphere Commerce Developer editions.

    BUSINESS IMPACT:
High- Enablement for feature pack will not work.

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • PROBLEM CONCLUSION
There is no functional impact due to the exception and it can be
    safely ignored.

Prior to fix pack 4 the exception occurred but the calling code
ignored it and the stack trace was not printed. One of the Ant
tasks used during feature enablement attempts to parse a file
    <WC_InstallDir>\instances\wcs_instances. This file exists in
the WebSphere Commerce runtime server but not in WebSphere
Commerce Developer. Starting in WebSphere Commerce V7 fix pack 4
the calling code no longer ignored such exceptions causing the
stack trace to be printed in the enablement log. IBM has
resolved the issue by updating the underlying code such that it
confirms that the file exists before calling the code to parse
    it, thus avoiding the exception.
