APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a product "Code" is modified using Management Center, it only
  the PARTNUMBER in the CATENTRY table is updated.  It does not
  update PARTNUMBER in the BASEITEM table as expected.
  

Local fix

• BASEITEM.PARTNUMBER can be updated directly in the database.
  This issue does not appear in WebSphere Commerce Accelerator
  

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  WebSphere Commerce users on v7 who update product codes using
  Management Center
  
  PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
  In Commerce Managment Center (CMC), if  a product "Code" is
  modified, CATENTRY.PARTNUMBER is updated but BASEITEM.PARTNUMBER
  holds the previous value.
  
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  This will cause data inconsistency and can lead to dataload
  failure.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• With this fix, the PARTNUMBER in both CATENTRY and BASEITEM
  table will be updated.
