Error description

  • WebSphere Commerce FEP3 stores do no work correctly in the
WebSphere Commmerce V7 Development Enviornment (toolkit) after
running resetStores.bat and republising the store archive.
Errors such as the following are observed in the SystemOut.log
    after publishing the store:

    [8/22/11 14:00:31:298 EDT] 000001b0 logging E
/GenericJSPPageError.jsp - No expression builder has been
    configured with the name:
    "findSEOPageDefintionByPageNameAndStoreID".
                                     javax.servlet.jsp.JspException:
No expression builder has been configured with the name:
    "findSEOPageDefintionByPageNameAndStoreID".

Example steps to reproduce the error are:
    - Install FP3 and FEP3 on WebSphere Commerce V7 Developer
    - Enable the foundation feature (or any feature that depends on
    foundation)
    - Run resetstores.bat

The resetStores script removes files from the Stores.war that
are required by the FEP3 Stores. Trying to re-enable the
feature/features does not resolve the issue; the feature is
still registered as being already enabled so the
enableFeature.bat command does not enable it again.

Local fix

  • There are two options:
    1) Manually copying the files from
    <WC>\components\foundation\wc.ear\Stores.war\WEB-INF to
    <WC>\workspace\Stores\WebContent\WEB-INF\config will fix this
    issue
    2) Disable any features that depend on the foundation feature,
then disable the foundation feature then re-enable the features
    that you need.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
All WebSphere Commerce v7 FEP3 users who run resetstores after
    enabling one or more feature

    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Errors like "No expression builder" occur after resetStores.bat
    and republish store archives

    BUSINESS IMPACT:
Cannot launch the store after store publish

    RECOMMENDATION:

Problem conclusion

  • A new action is registered in the install action registry that
    copies required files from the
    <WC_InstallDir>/components/<featureName> directories to the
    <WC_InstallDir>/workspace/Stores/WebContent directory for
any/all features that have been previously enabled. The
resetstores.bat has been updated so that this new action is
executed after it restores the base Stores project. The result
is that resetstores.bat now takes into account new files in the
Stores project that were added in feature packs.

The fix for this issue has two components.
    - Customers using fix pack 3 (7.0.0.3) with feature pack 3
(FEP3) need to apply fixes for two APARs: JR40484 and JR40600
    - Customers using fix pack 4 (7.0.0.4) and higher with feature
pack 3 (FEP3) will need to apply the fix for one APAR: JR40484
    - Customer using higher feature pack versions beyond FEP3 will
not need to take any action.
