APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When 32-bit client is running on 64-bit Windows machine the
    command db2trc on -f t.dmp creates file t.dmp with 0 length -
    db2 trace data are not written to the file.
    

Local fix

  • Trace to memory and then dump it to the file, for example:
    
    db2trc on -l 32M
    reproduce the problem
    db2trc dump t.dmp
    db2trc off
    
    flw and fmt the t.dmp file
    

Problem summary

  • Users Affected: All that use DB@ 32-bit on Win 64-bit
    roblem summary: db2trc to file produces file with  length of 0.
    

Problem conclusion

  • First fixed in v9.5 fp8
    

Temporary fix

  • trace to memory anf then dump to file.
