Error description
Product : InformationServer(DataStage) Version : 8.1 Platform : AIX Client : XP There are two jobs. One is an original job and customer copied it with another name. Customer tried to compare 2 jobs using "job compare" function in Designer. But this function indicates that there was a monification on one annotation even though the customer has not changed the annotation. This function seems to compare different annotations.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Job comparisons with Annotation stages **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Comparisons of jobs with Annotation stages that had been manipulated by Cut/Copy/Paste operations caused Diff to compare the wrong objects - this typically showed differences when no differences were expected. **************************************************************** RECOMMENDATION: Install patch JR36614 ****************************************************************
Problem conclusion
The internal stage name of the annotation objects required normalization ensuring comparison picks up the correct object being compared.
