JR35970: IS 8.0.1: TERADATA CONNECTOR PX STAGE DOES NOT ALLOW VARIANT 12 TO BE SELECTED IN DROP-DOWN RESULTING IN FAILED BULK LOAD.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After upgrading TeraData from v8 to v12, the TeraData Connector
  PX stage fails and v12 is not available in the Variant drop-down
  combo box.  Variant 12 must be selected for running in bulk
  mode.
  

Local fix

• Set Access Mode to Immediate to work around issue, however
  performance will be noticably poorer.
  

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  TDEE users running with "tenacity" & "sleep" options on
  multi-node config & encounter 2633 error from TD-DBS.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Issue with tenacity-option, when running on multi-node config &
  player processes do not get any sessions to
  report-session-error. (This only happens when DBS is under max.
  load).
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install the patch.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• Issue fixed. Added a check to see if there is a
  session-available, before trying to access session-specific
  error info. Code-fix committed & patch provided as part of the
  APAR # JR35970.
