JR35667: PATCH NEEDED TO SUPPRESS WARNING MESSAGE FROM DB2: SQL0513W THE SQL STATEMENT WILL MODIFY AN ENTIRE TABLE OR VIEW

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer receives warning message from DB2 causing their job to
  fail.  This is with DB2 on zLinux.

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Server ODBC stage fails with SQLExecDirect error.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When the update action of the server ODBC stage is set to
  "Clear the table, then insert rows", job aborts with error:
  DSD.BCIOpenW call to function SQLExecDirect failed. The database
  used is DB2 on z/OS.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply patch JR35667.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• Patch fixed the issue in DSEgnine by allowing the process to
  continue when SQLNumResultCols returns SQL_SUCCESS_WITH_INFO. To
  suppress the message when SQLExecDirect returns
  SQL_SUCCESS_WITH_INFO, just add user-defined environment
  variable DSODBC_NO_DB2_DELETE_WARNIGNS and set its value to 1.
