JR35409: USING DSJOB TO RESET A FAILED JOB GIVES ERROR -14, BUT THE JOB I S RESET SUCCESSFULLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using dsjob to reset a failed job, a return code of 255
  and a DS Status Code of -14 (DSJE_TIMEOUT) are returned. The
  job is successfully reset. The DSRunJob code for defaulting the
  DSWaitResetTimeout value is incorrect.
  

Local fix

• The workaround is to set DSWaitResetTimeout=5 in the dsenv
  file. 5 is the current default value.
  

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Users of JR30015v5 or v6, who perform job resets using dsjob or
  director.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  After installing JR30015v5 or v6, it is possible that a
  customer can experience "-14" errors when using dsjob -run
  -mode RESET.
  
  The server code that defaults the reset timeout value does not
  work correctly if the DSWaitResetTimeout environment variable is
  not set. A workaround is to set this variable in the DSEngine
  dsenv file.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install patch for JR35409.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The code for setting the reset timeout value has been corrected.
  
  NOTE: this patch delivers a module that is included in JR30015.
  This patch should only be delivered if a customer experiences
  -14 errors when resetting jobs *after* JR30015v5 has been
  delivered.
