USERS AFFECTED:
AIX 64bit platforms at release 8.1

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
InformationServer static files larger than 2gig could not be
read from or written to.
Jobs abort when the file size reaches 2GB.

RECOMMENDATION:
Upgrade to next release of InformationServer after 8.1.0.1 or
the patch created for 8.1 AIX
****************************************************************

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • S 8.1 on AIX 64bit platform, modified 64bit os calls for AIX
to allow read
and write to/from static files that are larger than 2 gigabytes
long.
Parallel engine will  now read or write data to 64-bit static
hashed files
