Error description
IA 8.1 Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005 repository PK Analysis Frequency Distribution displays ^ to represent NULL. Customer's concerns: 1. It is not readily clear to the user that the ^ represents nulls. The can make that relationship by looking at the data. 2. Is the ^ recognized as null and represented in the statistics? What about other nulls? Are they all analyzed as null? 3. Customer's preference suggestions: - Make behavior similar to what is done with virtual columns - Add the ability to indicate explicitly to the user that they can substitute what they want to use to represent null or have a default substitution for null such as [NULL] instead of ^ - In Properties, allow the user to set the default to represent NULL. 4. Concerns for all options are: - Will they be recognized as true null values? (e.g. ^ or [NULL]) - When substituting for null value, does it affect the statistics? - Will the substitution 'break' FK Analysis?
