JR34893: FAST TRACK DON'T SEE THE PROJECT IF DATASTAGE PORT IS NOT DEFAUL

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• if datastage 8.1 (information server 8.1) doesn't run on
  default port 31538, Fast Track 8.1.1 doesn't see all the
  projects and stop working.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  USERS AFFECTED:
  FastTrack won't be able to connect to DS installations that are
  not configured for the default port 31538
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  FastTrack will show an error message when the user tries to
  generate a DS job indicating that the user has no access rights
  to connect to any DS project, even though the access rights
  have been configured correctly in the IS admin consonle (using
  the DS Engine Credential mappings)
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply patch JR34893
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• After the patch has been installed, the following needs to be
  done:
  1) On the IS WAS Server machine, open the directory
  ../WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/default/classes
  2) create a new file: fasttrack.properties
   - Create the following line:
  YourDSEngineName.DSPROJECT_PORT=yourPortNumber
      - yourDSEngineName is the machine name where the DSEngine
  has been installed
      - yourPortNumber is the port number of the DSEngine.
  3) Make sure to close the file after editing and allow its
  readability via file system permissions.
