Error description
Customers migrating version 8 database (which was originally created in version 7) to Version 9, will experience internal corruption in the methods associated with the spatial column. Spatial column is a special structured type column. The methods associated with this type are executed when an operation is performed on this column. It is this column . The main issue here is that these methods created in v7.2 or earlier, which are then migrated to version 8.* will suffer an internal corruption when migrating to v9.1, v9.5, or v9.7. This corruption in turn affects the spatial extenders because of their use of structured types (spacial columns). . This will cause different issues in different release of version 9. Here are the outcome of select query performed on such column on version 9.1 . 1. Version 9.1 has an "internal" corruption, which must be fixed so that the databases can be successfully upgraded later to version 9.5 and onwards. In version 9.1 you will get the correct data, but the corruption in the structure is still present. . This APAR will address and fix the corruption caused during migration from version 8 (for database created in version 7) to version 9 releases described above. This APAR does not fix corruption if you have already migrated to version 9 without this fix.
