JR34810: CANNOT DEPLOY AN ISD JOB WITH AN ENCRYPTED JOB PARAMETER

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After installation of the Version 8.1 Critical Patch for
  Information Server 8.1, you cannot deploy a service in
  Information Services Director ( ISD ) if the jobs selected as
  service providers contain encrypted parameters.  If you try to
  modify the user-defined job parameter to specify the value in
  edit mode, you will not be able to save the application.

  encrypted job parameters.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  During the creation or editing of an operation that uses a
  DataStage provider with encrypted job parameters, attempting to
  change the value of an encrypted job parameter in the Job
  Parameters tab will lead to an error when saving the
  Application.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply patch_jr34810 to all ISD clients.  The patch contains the
  missing client changes.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• A change was made to how encrypted job parameters are edited by
  ISD.  This change was made to code on the server and the client.
   The 8.1 critical patch included the server changes, but not
  the client changes.
