APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IS 8.1.0.0 German installation with Xmeta critical patch
  installed in Red Hat linux.
  Unable to delete imported job in newly created project.
  The system hangs or it will throw the error: 'Unable to delete
  the item(s).'
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  On a German installation it is not possible for users to delete
  a newly created job.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  In Designer attempting to delete a newly created or imported job
  will result in an exception dialog being generated, due to a
  failure in Universe.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install the patch associated with JR34622
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The issue was being caused by the setting and getting of the
  locale within the Universe basic. This is only required on a
  Turkish system, so the code has now been modifed to perform the
  locale changes only if the system is Turkish.
