Problem conclusion

  • PX Job doesn't abort despite fatal error raised by filter stage
    IS 8.0.1.

    It is generally the responsibility of the code producing the
    error to return a failure status that is checked by the caller.
    There are other places in the code where it is the
    responsibility of the caller to query the log to see if an error
    message has been placed in it and return a failure status
    itself.

    In this case, The function doesn't return a status, so it is
    expecting the caller to check the passed log for error level
    messages using the hasError() call and take the appropriate
    action. In this case this would mean returning failure status
    from filter's describeOperator().
