Error description

  • When exporting a mapping definition from the FastTrack client to
csv, the annotations of the lookup definitions do not get
exported even if "annotations" is selected in the export wizard
    check box.

This limitation has an impact on the customer work flow since
they use annotations to document all the lookup conditions that
are needed to design the mapping but not supported in FastTrack
such as constant predicate keys, keys derived from other
lookups, keys having complex derivations (e.g. concatenated
columns). The customer uses the csv export function in order to
deploy the mapping specifications to different environments and
as a quick means to backup the mapping specifications, is thus
critical for them to have all the relevant information,
including the lookup annotations included in the exported csv.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
Problems when using lookup definitions in FastTrack.
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
There are three problems when using looup definitions in
    FastTract :
    1) When exporting a mapping definition from the FastTrack client
    to
csv, the annotations of the lookup definitions do not get

exported even if "annotations" is selected in the export
    wizard
    check box.
    2) When the table definition for a lookup table is deleted, the
resulting exported mapping is incomplete and is missing the
    'deleted' lookup table name.
    3) Cannot add the same named column from a different lookup
(same table) to the source column in a mapping.

    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Apply patch JR34457.
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution was to :
    1) Export and import lookup annotations
    2) Export lookup with deleted table to csv file.
    3) Allow adding the same named column from a different lookup
(same table) to the source column in a mapping.
