Error description

• Each WISD job deployed generates a socket in CLOSE_WAIT status
  on the dsrpc port.
  Issue reported on Information Server 8.0.1 FP1 on AIX system

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  Socket connections from dsapi_server in CLOSE_WAIT state for
  duration of job
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Socket connections are found in CLOSE_WAIT state during the
  duration of a job run when (1) using dsjob without -jobstatus or
  -wait option to invoke the job or (2) running an ISD
  application.  The issue was discovered on AIX but is applicable
  to any UNIX platforms.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply the dsapi_server patch.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is fixed by setting the close-on-exec flag on the
  socket file descriptor in the dsapi_server executable. A patch
  is available for AIX which will work on 8.0.1.1 and 8.0.1.2.
