• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Job compare tool aborting when comparing two jobs in different
  directories when a special character is in one of the jobs.
  

Local fix

• This fix is included in 8.0.1 fix pack 3
  

Problem summary

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Diff tool blows up with error like "Invalid character $...
  found in xml", it doing a cross platform compare the job
  picker dialog may appear to be "corrupted" and the user will
  not be able to choose a job.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  user must install/upgrade to the relevent patch/product release.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was fixed in 8.1 and that fix has been back ported
  into 801.
