Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:

Jobs which use STP stage to read/write long varchar type data
into database.
****************************************************************
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
STP Stage doesn't have support for LONG VARCHAR datatype. And
there is also a problem in dscapiop which supports until
999,999 only as the precision of a varchar column.
****************************************************************
RECOMMENDATION:
Install Patches released for IS801 and IS81 depending on the IS
use.

The fixes are included in the IS 8.1 FP1. Apply the fixpack 1.

Problem conclusion

  • New code added to support LONG VARCHAR datatype. Tested
successfully using SQL Server in SOURCE and TARGET contexts.
