APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The user has configured Oracle Connector to load data to the
database in Bulk load mode. The user has also set the Rebuild
indexes property to Yes. One of the indexes defined for the
table is partitioned. The job fails with the unknown exception
at the point when the connector attempts to rebuild the
    partitioned index.

Local fix

  • Set Rebuild indexes property to No and rebuild the index
manually after the job completes. Alternatively, specify the
DDL statements for rebuilding the index in the After SQL
connector property so that the connector runs them as
user-specified custom SQL statements at the end of the job.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of Oracle Connector who are writing data to the target
table in bulk load mode and are using the connector to rebuild
indexes following the data load process.
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When the connector was configured to rebuild table indexes
aftercompleting writing data to the table in bulk load mode, it
would report error and cause the job to fail in cases when
the target table contained one or more partitioned or indexes.
The connector was not issuing correct DDL statements to rebuild
    the indexes in this case.
    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
Install Connector Rollup Patch 2 (CCRP2).
This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • The connector was fixed to correctly recognize that an index is
partitioned (or composite-partitioned) and to issue correct DDL
    statements to rebuild the index.
