JR33784: RESTART OF A JOB SEQUENCE WITH DIFFERENT PARAMETERS THROWS ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When a check pointed Job Sequence restarts with new parameters,
  job throws a "The current job run does not have the same
  parameters as its checkpoint record" error.

• This fix is included in 8.0.1 fixpack 3

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When restarting a sequence which in turn contains other
  sequences, the reset code can cause a problem which manifests
  itself as an error indicating the child sequence has not
  startedafter the timeout period. In reality it has run to
  completion.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Only way to resolve the problem is to apply the patch. The
  problem is however performance related.
  This fix is included in 8.1 FP1.

Problem conclusion

• Modified code to handle auto reset of a sequence by treating it
  correctly as two events. RESET and RUN.
