Error description

  • SQL Server Wrapper crashes when connecting to remote data source
if:
- Federated SERVER object defined with FOLD_ID='U' option.
- Federated database has different codepage with remote MS SQL
Server.

This crash is recorded as a "Signal 11, Address not mapped to
object" in trap file.

Local fix

  • None.
Customer can use fenced wrapper instead of unfenced wrapper to
reduce the possibility of the crash

Problem summary

  • Problem was first fixed in Version 9.1 FixPak 9 (s100326 ). This
fix should be applied on the federation server.
