JR33597: IS EE 8.1 : UNABLE TO COMPILE JOB WHICH USES DERIVATION EXP(-1) IN A TRANSFORMER STAGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A DS EE job with the function Exp(-1) within the Transformer
  stage will not compile correctly.
  

Local fix

• Several workarounds possible by changing the funciton to the
  following : exp(-1.0) or exp("-1") or exp(-1*1)
  

Problem summary

  Users of Information Server 8.0.1 and beyond will see job
  compile failure.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Customers trying to make the exp() call with a constant value
  of-1 will result in the job compile failing.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Install patch JR33597
  This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.

Problem conclusion

• Fixed the transform evaluation code to handle negative constant
  values in the match functions.
