Error description

  • Information Server 8.1 using Db2 Enterprise Edition Stage will
receive the following error message when using WRITE modes

The file does exist on ETL server, but Datastage is incorrectly
looking for this file on the DB2 server.

Message:


DLY_high_redemption_alarm: The file
`/home/dsadm/remote_db2config/maxinst1/sqllib/db2nodes.cfg' must
exist and be readable by all users!

Local fix

  • Create this db2nodes.cfg file on the DB2 server

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
USERS AFFECTED:
The issue is seen when using DB2 EE Method = Write jobs in a
remote node configuration with IS 8.1
****************************************************************
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
DB2 EE Method = Write jobs running in a remote node
configuration incorrectly fail with the following error:

The file
`/home/dsadm/remote_db2config/maxinst1/sqllib/db2nodes.cfg' must
exist and be readable by all users !
****************************************************************
RECOMMENDATION:
Install patch_JR33486
****************************************************************

  • Issue is fixed by patch_JR33486
