Error description

• After applying the upgrade to ODBC version 5.3, the DataStage
  engine will not start. AIX platform

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  After upgrading DataDirect drivers from v5.2 to v5.3, bin/uvsh
  failed on AIX with error:
  Symbol resolution failed for uvsh because Symbol __dl__FPv
  (number 553) is not exported from libodbc.a(odbc.so).
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The exported symbol list has been changed from v5.2 to v5.3
  driver libriaries. Version 8.0.1 uvsh was linked with v5.2
  driver libraries on AIX. Some of the imported symbols in uvsh
  are no longer exported from v5.3 driver libriaries. This can
  sometimes cause the problem.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply patch JR33485.
  This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.

Problem conclusion

• Resolution was to rebuild uvsh linked with v5.3 driver
  libriaries.
