Error description

  • Sometimes, the customer's job fails due to Sybase IQ time out
    error in CT Lib layer as following.

    subproc o/p message:   ct_connect(): user api layer: internal
    Client Library error: Read from the server has timed out.

    internal net library error: Net-lib operation timed out
    
    This error happens at the job initialization phase, and the
    customer expects the job to retry several times before aborting
    for this error in initialization.
    

Local fix

  • Increase the connection timeout in Sybase IQ side.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When connecting to Sybase IQ database using Sybase enterprise
    stage due to various reasons the stage may not connect to the
    database at the first attempt. Customer requests that the stage
    should retry connecting to the database before aborting.

    RECOMMENDATION:
    Install a patch after it is released on top of 8.5 release.
