JR33165: SCALE MISMATCH WARNINGS WITH SERVER DB2 ODBC PLUGIN WITH INFORMA TION SERVER8.0.1 FOR LINUX ON SYSTEM Z

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Receiving metadata mismatch warnings on all columns when
  viewing/reading DB2 data with DataStage Server ODBC stage on
  System Z.
  
  Here are some example of the warnings generated:
  
  DSBrowser..ODBC_0.DSLink2: DSD.BCIOpenR results of
  SQLColAttributes
  (PRG_TABELLA) gave MetaData mismatch
  MetaData mismatch on COLUMN.SCALE Expected = 0 Actual = 2
  
  This works as correctly on non System Z installation.
  

Local fix

• This fix is included in 8.0.1 fixpack 3

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

  ODBC stage on System Z.
  
    Examples of warnings are

       Problem is that DSEngine
  BCI layer code path for Z SUSE is not  handling SQL.COLUMN.SCALE
  attribute at all for        SQLColAttributes() call.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply patch JR33165
  This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• Added fix to handle SQL.COLUMN.SCALE for SQLColAttrbutes() BCI
  call for Z SUSE code path.
  There is no change that customer is required to make apart from
  installing the patch.
