APAR status

Error description

  • DataStage 7.5.3 non NLS on AIX 5.3
DB2 8.2 federated (database on remote windows server)
Server job (DB2 plugin)

Message :
"Cgt_REF_TIT_PARUTION..TRS1: [IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0002W  Data
truncated. SQLSTATE=01004"
"Cgt_REF_TIT_PARUTION..TRS1: At row 5970, link 'VersENV', while
processing column 'THEME', value truncated to 'SCHUMI  3ﾶ￸ TITRE
MONDIAL F1"

Correct value should be "SCHUMI  3￸ TITRE MONDIAL F1" (data
converted from UTF8 to ASCII).

Installing the DB2 plugin library from previous version (7.5)
resolves the problem.

Local fix

  • Use libraries of the DB2 plugin from version 7.5

Problem conclusion

  • When there is a mismatch between column lengths specified in job
and table,the CLI shows errors about data truncation. This
particular scenario is not correctly handled at 753 GA and junk
characters get added.
The problem scenario is similar to what is fixed by ecase
130380. Installation of the provided patches fixes the problem.
