Error description
Environment Server Solaris 2.10 Information Server 8.01 Client Windows XP 2002 SP2 Problem The function MidnightSecondsFromTime (gives second in the day (0-86400) from a time field) should be available in the drop down list of Transformer functions under the Date & Time category. It is missing in the functions presented. It does, however, exist in the DSParams file. The entry in the DSParams file is: MidnightSecondsFromTime\Returns the number of seconds from midnight to the given time\Date & Time\dfloat\time\midnight_seconds_from_time Note that the second '\' delimited field should be the number of arguments the function expects. It is missing. The line should read: MidnightSecondsFromTime\1\Returns the number of seconds from midnight to the given time\Date & Time\df loat\time\midnight_seconds_from_time The function then correctly appears in the drop-down list in the Transformer stage. Workaround Edit the line as above and save. Save also the the DSParams file in the Template directory in $DSHOME/../Template Severity This is a critical issue for customers who are unaware of the problem. As here, they may find themselves writing external parallel functions in C to code around a problem that already has a solution!. Additionally, future releases of the product may well overwrite the 'fixes' to DSParams that could easily be overlooked.
