JR29550: Oracle upsert command fails with bounded raw fields when the APT_OLD_BOUNDED_LENGTH environment variable is set. Fatal Error.

Error description

• Oracle EE operator: resence of the environment variable
  APT_OLD_BOUNDED_LENGTH is
  failing upsert unit tests with bounded raw fields. (customer has
  applied patch 89416 for their
  DS752 on Itanium, to fix a problem when using upsert with
  dates, into oracle 10).
  

Local fix

• Presence of the environment variable APT_OLD_BOUNDED_LENGTH is
  failing upsert unit tests with bounded raw fields.
  This is true even with the current code without any
  modifications.
  
  That said, I have tested my modifications on a couple of
  
  platforms with success. The only thing remaining is to correct
  the upsert behavior for raw fields in presence of this
  APT_OLD_BOUNDED_LENGTH.  I am working on it right now.
  
  
  This fix is included in 8.0.1 fix pack 3
