APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DataStage 7.5.2 on HP-UX(Itanium), server job
  with sequential file as target fails at first
  run but succeeds at next runs. And the target
  file is created under the ownership of root.
  
  Same probem happens in DS 7.5.3 on HP-UX(Itanium) too.

  On HP platforms, a job may abort if the DataStage sequential
  file stage is creating a file in a directory not owned by the
  user.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Request a patch.
  This change is included in 8.1 Fix Pack 1.

Problem conclusion

• The problem is caused by the behavior of chown() on HPUX where
  auser can change the owner of a file to any other user
  (includingroot) but then can't remove the file.  Processing for
  the   environment variable DS_SEQ_BYPASS_CHOWN has been
  added to the  DSD_SEQOpen.B module.  When set to 1, a different
  method of     temporarily creating the file for validation is
  used to bypass the chown call.
