Error description
During v9 DB2 installation, install fails with failure in creating DB2 global registry (an error shows in the install log): 1: ERROR:An error occurred while initializing the Profile Registry. The returnvalue is "-2029059760". Contact your technical service representative. The reason of failure is that an incorrect registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2\InstalledCopies\DB2V8 was created by the installation of v9 info center on the system with v8 DB2 installed.
Local fix
Remove the incorrect registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2\InstalledCopies\DB2V8 from the system.
