JR27078: DB2 V7 CLIENT CONNECTION IS CLOSED BY DB2 V9.1SERVER WHEN NO NEW REQUEST IS RECIEVED IN 2 MINUTES

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Db2 V7 client connection will be closed by the DB2 V9.1
server, when no new request is recieved from the client for more
than 2 minutes. The following entries in the db2diag.log file on
the server indicate this at DIAGLEVEL 4:

This is similar to APAR LI70026 except covers the case when
database is cataloged explicitly with the same
authentication type as on the server.

Local fix

  • Recatalog the database on the client so that the authentication
parameter is not used.

i.e.

Use:
catalog db <db> at node <node>

Instead of:
catalog db <db> at node <node> authentication <auth_type>

Problem summary

  • Db2 V7 client connection will be closed by the DB2 V9.1
server, when no new request is recieved from the client for more

  • Problem was first fixed in Version 9.1 Fix Pack 5

Temporary fix
