Error description
Instance crash during binary sort. Within a function which handles the decimal sort key, the size of the packed decimal value is not correctly handled. We're over-reading the data from the input insert-buffer by 1 extra byte. This can cause traps or violations when this last byte happens to fall right at the end of the insert-buffer allotted memory. The stack seen with this problem (only the top of the stack is shown): 00000032 in <?LOAD_BINARY_WORD@@YAKPAEH@Z> <sqlsbsort.h:496> <?bsortPadBlanks> <sqlsgetfirstpkey.C:2364> <?bsortGetFirstPartialKey> <?bsortGetFirstPartialKey> <sqlsgetfirstpkey.C:553> <?qlsBinSort> <sqlsbsort.C:570> <?sqlsUseBinSort>
Local fix
A workaround is to use the DB2_BINSORT registry variable to disable binary sorts, as follows: - db2set DB2_BINSORT=NO - db2stop - db2start
