Error description

  • In IBM(R) Rational(R) Data Architect, reverse engineering a DB2
ddl results in no relationship lines between tables in the
physical model. After transforming the physical model to a
logical model, the relationship lines appear.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Reverse engineer the attached dll (this ddl was generated
    directly from a DB2 8.2 database).
    2. Expand the database, and expand DB2USERI.
    3. Right-click on the Diagrams folder and select New Overview
    Diagram.
    4. Select all of the tables in the schema, and click OK.
    5. On the new diagram, notice that there are no relationship
lines between the tables. Right-click on any table in the
diagram and choose Show Related Elements. Nothing happens.
    6. Highlight the physical model in the Data Project Explorer.
Go to Data -> Transform -> Logical Data Model.
    7. Accept the defaults on the dialogs that follow to generate
    the logical data model.
    8. In the Data Project Explorer, expand the new logical model,
    and the top-level package.
    9. Right-click on the Diagrams folder and choose New Overview
    Diagram.
    10. Choose to add all of the tables to the diagram.
    11. In the new diagram, notice that the relationship lines are
    present.
    12. If you then transform the new logical model back to a
physical model, and create an overview diagram, you will see
that the relationship lines are now present.
