Error description

  • A WebSphere MQ v701 queue manager is defined with STATCHL(NONE).
Statistics messages regarding channels are being sent to the
    SYSTEM.ADMIN.STATISTICS.QUEUE although
STATCHL(NONE) is set in the queue manager properties. The
information center describes the queue manager STATCHL
    parameter as follows:
    Bookshelf: WebSphere MQ
Topic : Script (MQSC) Command Reference
    Sub-Topic: The MQSC commands

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
The problem was introduced in fixpack 7.0.1.0. Hence, WebSphere
MQ V701 users who are utilizing various options of STATCHL
parms at queue manager level may be affected by this issue.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When MCAUSER of a receiver channel is set to a user who is not
a member of mqm group and no authority is given to the user for
the dead letter queue of the receiving side queue manager,
then, despite the STATCHL at queue manager level being set to
NONE, the channel statistics message are still logged in
    SYSTEM.ADMIN.STATISTICS.QUEUE.

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere MQ code has been corrected such that the channel
statistics messages are not generated when STATCHL is set to
NONE at the queue manager level.
