IZ79819: IBMJDK FAILS TO READ PRINCIPAL STATEMENT WITH WHITESPACE FROM SECURITY FILE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Given a principal statement in java security policy file like:
principal javax.security.auth.x500.X500Principal
'CN=manager,O=COMPANY,OU=software,L=LOCATION,ST=MN'

But if customer adds spaces in the principal statement like
principal javax.security.auth.x500.X500Principal 'CN=manager,
O=COMPANY, OU=software, L=LOCATION, ST=MN'

IBMJDK will fails to read it from security file.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when spaces are added into a principal
statement.

Problem conclusion

  • The SECURITY of IBMJDK6 should ignore white space of in names of
principal statement. SECURITY module has been updated to prevent
such an unexpected behavior.

This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR8 FP1
