IZ74684: CMVC 199462 - CLEAR CACHE FOR A TASK GROUP THAT HAS BEEN APPROVED IN A WORKSPACE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The cache for an e-Marketing Spot is not cleared when the
    associated task group has been approved in workspace without
    previewing the store.
    
    To reproduce this problem:
    1) Edit a store JSP and add an e-Marketing Spot.
    For example:

        <c:param name="numberContentPerRow" value="1" />

       <%out.flush();%>
    
    2) Go to the store front (no content should appear).
    3) Create a workspace.
    4) Create a task group.
    5) Create a task.
    6) In Management Center, work on the task.
    7) Open the Marketing tool.
    8) Create an e-Marketing Spot (same name as specified in store
    jsp).
    9) Create a Web activity (use the e-Marketing Spot that was just
    created) and display a category.
    10) Activate the Web activity.
    11) Do not go to the store preview. Mark the task as complete.
    12) Approve the task group
    13) Go to the store front. The category should appear in the
    e-Marketing Spot.
    

Local fix

  • After approving a task group from a workspace, update the
    CampaignInitiativeCache Registry using the Admin Console.
    

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce users on v6.0 with Feature Pack 4 enabled who
    create e-Marketing Spots in a workspace.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    When a new e-Marketing Spot is created in a task group, the
    activities associated with that e-Marketing Spot may not display
    content in the store when viewing the approved content after the
    task has been approved.
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Viewing newly approved e-Marketing Spots in the approved content
    may not work properly after the associated task was approved.
    
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Apply the Interim Fix associated with this APAR IZ74684.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This issue is resolved by clearing the e-Marketing Spot cache
    when a task group is approved.
    Install Interim Fix IZ74684 to remedy this issue.
