APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Need to detect and attempt to recover from out of sequence
  entries in the node list table.  Currently, if a table is not
  closed properly, verification of the contents is done.  This
  verification code will need to be enhanced to detect out of
  sequence entries.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Symptoms vary, including objects not being distributed
  correctly, and duplicate insert errors.  However, presence of
  these symptoms doesn't always indicate table corruption.  The
  most reliable way to detect this issue is to apply the fix.
  

Problem conclusion

• During monitoring server startup, if a table was not closed
  properly during the previous run, as part of the verification
  process, the monitoring server will check and repair damages
  from previous unexpected terminations automatically.
  
  Because the previous level of the monitoring server could not
  detect this problem, upgraded environments that have just
  installed this fix should add the following environment variable
  to KBBENV during the first run so all tables are checked:
  
  KGL_CBTVERIFY=ALWAYS
  
  Tables are backed up automatically before repair.  For instance,
  if QA1CNODL needed to be repaired, the following backup files
  are created in the tables directory first.
  
   QA1CNODL.DB.4b1da7fb-1.BAK
   QA1CNODL.IDX.4b1da7fb-1.BAK
  
  The hex number is the UTC timestamp and it matches the RAS1
  trace name.
  
  This fix does not apply to z/OS, which uses a different facility
  and doesn't suffer this type of corruption to begin with.
