Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED:
    * Systems running the AIX 6100-04 Technology Level with the
    * bos.rte.libc fileset below the 6.1.4.1 level.  This problem
    * is known to affect DB2.
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    * Possible core dumps in various programs.  This problem is
    * known to cause DB2 instances to crash intermittently.  DB2
    * systems with databases cataloged with alternate servers using
    * IP addresses are vulnerable.
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:
    * Install APAR IZ65501.
    ****************************************************************
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes have been done to take care of copying the
    copying the contents of the address rather than just copying
    the reference.
