variable are not being recognized.

Local fix

  • Use the IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable or specify the
option on the java command line.

Problem summary

  • This environment variable was not included in the environment
variables that are collected and used within the J9 JVM.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
5.0.0 SR10
6.0.0 SR4

Support for the Java_TOOL_OPTIONS environment variable has been
added to the JVM and Diagnostic Guides have been updated.

To obtain the fix:
Install build 20081210 or later
