IZ28326: SYSTEM XML FILES NOT BEING DEPLOYED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• System xml files not being deployed
  
  1. In source, define a package of type "CHANGE"
  2. Include the out of the box APPLICATION migration group in
  this package definition
  3. Approve and activate the definition
  4. Go to Application Designer
  5. Export the System XMLs - specifically menus and lookups
  6. Edit the XMLs using any Text or XML editor outside Maximo
  7. Return to Application Designer and Import the XMLs
  8. Use a SQL tool to access the source database and open the
  DMPKGEVENTTRK table
  9. Execute the query: select * from dmpkgeventtrk and review the
  resulting records
  
  There will be UPDATE event records stored for LOOKUPS and MENUS
  on the MAXPRESENTATION object. But there will no parent entry
  for MAXAPPS that correspond to these MAXPRESENTATION entries.
  
  Result: When the package is created, the UPDATE event records
  will be ignored.
