IZ20686: ERROR WHEN USING SYNC COMMAND FROM OS PROMPT USING -CONFIG AND -IPADDR SWITCHES

  Problem Description:
  
  The sync command does not have a problem when run with -all
  option (in which case it syncs both drive table and config
  file). However, if it is run with -config option (i.e sync only
  the config file), it seems to fail stating that -ipaddr is not a
  valid switch.
  
  However, the problem occurs ONLY when the sync command is run
  from OS prompt. If it
  is instead run from the EKM shell prompt, there is no problem.
  The -config works fine and accepts the -ipaddr switch.
  

Local fix

  Run sync command from EKM shell
  

Problem summary

•   The KMSAdmin command fails when -config option

  ERROR DESCRIPTION:
  
    The KMSAdmin command fails when -config option is specified in
  an operating System's command window. The command displays the
  error message:
      Optarg argument -ipaddr is an invalid pattern to use as an
  opt arg for the swithched argument config.
  

Problem conclusion

• The KMSAdmin command erroneously treated the -config option when
  the user wanted to synchronize the configuration file only. The
  behavior was inconsistent with how the command behaved when -all
  option was specified. When -all option was specified, the
  KMSAdmin command attempts to synchronize both the configuration
  and the drive table.  The fix is to make the behavior consistent
  in both the cases.  The CMVC defect for EKM is 101983.
  Build-level of fixed IBMKeyManagementServer.jar  is 20080516.
  This binary can be downloaded from EKM website once the website
  is updated.
