Error description

  • Probe AD028004 FDC from adiOpenFile (Rc=24) in amqzxma0
process, when migrating to V6. The FDC shows
zxcRestoreChannelStatus on the Function Stack. The process may
have difficulty reporting its name, and also reporting
messages, because of the lack of available file descriptors.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users migrating (to V6) a queue manager with a large amount of
channel status information on the SYSTEM.CHANNEL.SYNC queue.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The channel definition file was being repeatedly opened (only
when the queue manager detects that migration is required).

Problem conclusion

  • Corrected the channel definition file opening/closing logic
    during migration.

A workaround would be to temporarily increase the max number of
file descriptors so that the migration can complete.
