IZ07795: TASK WORK ORDER STATUS DOES NOT CHANGE WHEN PARENT WORK ORDER STATUS IS CHANGED

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In 6.2.1 when back dating a work order and trying to close the
    status change does not roll down to the task.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    
    1.Insert new work order against an asset, changing Reported
    Date/Time and Status Date/Time to previous Date (what ever
    todays date is back date it by a day).
    
    2.Save the record. Notice the "Inherit Status Changes?" box
    is checked.
    
    3.Click on the Change Status button on the tool bar. Change
    the status to INPRG and change the DATE/Time to (previous date)
    And then click okay.
    
    4.Save the record
    
    5.Click on the Actuals tab. Click New Row under the Tasks for
    Work Order section. Input a sequence, a task description
    and an estimated duration of 1:00. Notice the "Inherit Status
    Changes?" box is checked
    
    6.Save the record
    
    7.Now click the New Row button on the Labor tab. Input Labor,
    Craft, Start Date/End Date (use previous date), Start
    Time & End Time (example of times 08:10 - 09:10)
    
    8.Save the record
    
    9.Now click the status change icon on the tool bar. Change
    the status to 'Close', the Status Date/Time to previous date and
    one hour from Reported Time. (Notice the
    status of the workorder is INPRG and the status of the Tasks is
    WAPPR). Click okay
    
    10.The Work Order Status is changed to Close and the Task
    Status stays WAPPR

    Task Work Order Status does not change when Parent Work Order
    Status is changed.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem exists when you have a child or task associated to
    the backdated workorder.  There is no way to backdate the
    status of the child/task workorders.  Nevertheless, a warning
    message should appear informing the user of the problem.
