Error description

  • PowerHA verification reported the following error:

"ERROR: Cannot send the packet to the node: prdpar31
....
ERROR: Comm error found on node: prdpar31"

Logs for clcomd showed repeating messages every 6
seconds:

"2017-05-16T10:15:24.022360(772): clcomd.c:
thread_func_node: 5877: Lost PINGs = 6, Limit = 5
2017-05-16T10:15:24.022369(772): clcomd.c: recover: 5170:
STARTERROR: connection lost, RECOVERY"

and clcomd logs for remote node also showed:

"2017-05-16T10:15:08.025213(515): clcomd.c: recover:
5170: STARTERROR: connection lost, RECOVERY"

Problem summary

  • clver or other processes that use clcomd may hang or take an
extremely long time.

Problem conclusion

  • Correct algorithm to prevent slot starvation issue.
