Error description

  • nimadm over nimsh fails at phase 11 with 4K target disk
with
 the following error.
alt_disk_copy: 0505-218 ATTENTION:
/alt_inst/usr/lib/boot/bin/savebase_static returned an
unexpected result.
alt_disk_copy: 0505-219 ATTENTION: Error copying rootvg
to
alternate disk.

Local fix

  • Execute nimadm over shell instead of nimsh

Problem summary

  • Customer will face problems in doing nimadm with 4K
target disks if connect method is nimsh.

Problem conclusion

  • Made the code changes to fix the problem.
