IV96284: UPGRADING THE WINCOLLECT .SFS CAN REQUIRE AN ADDITIONAL 'DEPLOY FULL CONFIGURATION' TO COMPLETE SOME AGENT INSTALLATIONS

APAR status

Error description

  • It has been observed in some customer environments that after
    installation of the WinCollect .sfs, some of the WinCollect
    Agents might not reflect the correct agent version number in
    the QRadar User Interface -> Admin tab -> WinCollect window.
    This has been observed in instances of WinCollect agents that
    are configured with auto updates turned on and that are
    configured to point to QRadar Managed Hosts.
    

Local fix

  • Perform a 'Deploy Full Configuration' from within the QRadar
    Admin tab, Advanced drop down menu.
    ***Note - There is an interruption of QRadar services during
    the Deploy Full Configuration process.
    The WinCollect agents should then become upgraded to the
    correct version at their next configuration poll interval.
    Contact Support for a possible workaround if the above solution
    does not correct the issue.

Problem conclusion

  • This issue was fixed in WinCollect version 7.2.8.
