APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When migrating from AIX 7.1.4.3 to 7.2.1.1, the binary
muxatmd is
removed. The fileset devices.common.IBM.atm.rte seems not
to exist anymore.
But while fileset and binaries are removed, the system
resource controller entry is not removed.
lssrc -a|grep muxa
 muxatmd          tcpip              inoperative

Local fix

  • Remove muxatmd after migration
/usr/bin/rmssys -s muxatmd > /dev/null 2>&1

Problem summary

  • muxatmd daemon entry is not deleted in AIX 7.2 , if system is
 migrated from lower AIX level.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed the code to perform muxatmd entry deletion on AIX
migration to AIX 7.2 from lowest AIX level.

Temporary fix

  •
